Course description
What's on the road
Start and finish are under the arch in a small town with a market square. After an avenue of poplars comes a canyon with a palm oasis, then meadows, a village, a lake with a promenade and a pine forest. The second half of the loop climbs hairpins through the village of Pod Wulkanem, whose name means under the volcano, onto its slopes: past a geothermal power plant, over a bridge across a lava gorge and back through the forest to the town. Along the way there are bus stops with kiosks and cars from communist-era Poland.
On Saturday 7 November and Saturday 12 December, the bike leg of Liga Triathlonu stages 5 and 6 is 20 km on Polskaventura, in start waves in Liga Ride. Everyone does the 400 m swim and the 5 km run on their own, and the results go to the League. Speed is calculated from power and the weight of rider and bike, so on a flat loop watts decide your pace.
